Terms of Service
Last updated Nov 4, 2026
1. Who we are
These Terms are an agreement between you and Cleansta, a home and business cleaning service serving the Lansing, MI area. By booking or receiving a service, you agree to these Terms.
2. Services and estimates
We clean according to the checklist for the service you book. Prices on our website and any quote are estimates based on the information you give us (size, condition, rooms, extras). If the home or business is much larger, dirtier or different than described, we will tell you before continuing and may adjust the price or the scope. Nothing extra is charged without telling you first.
3. Booking
A booking is confirmed when we confirm the date and time with you. Please give us accurate details about the space, pets, access and any special requests.
4. Cancellations and lockouts
Cancelling or moving your visit 48 hours or more ahead is free. Cancellations with less than 48 hoursβ notice, or if our team cannot get in when they arrive (a βlockoutβ), may be charged the fee listed on our Prices page (currently $50).
5. Payment and late fees
Payment is due when the service is finished, unless we agree otherwise in writing (for example, a monthly business contract). We take payment only through our approved payment processors; we never ask for card details by text or email. Overdue balances may be charged a late fee, which will be shown on your invoice, and we may pause future visits until the balance is paid.
6. Our 24-hour re-clean promise
If something on our checklist was missed, tell us within 24 hours of the visit and we will come back and re-clean that area at no charge. Re-cleaning is our remedy for quality concerns; we do not give cash refunds. Photos help us fix it quickly.
7. Damage and breakage
We take great care. If you believe something was damaged during a visit, tell us within 24 hours, with photos. We will look into it and, if we are responsible, repair it, replace it or pay for it β up to the price of that cleaning visit. We are not responsible for normal wear and tear, or for damage caused by items that were already broken, loose or not installed properly.
8. Items we donβt handle
Please put away or secure cash, jewelry, valuables, important papers, medication and anything fragile, irreplaceable or of high sentimental value. We are not responsible for loss of or damage to such items left out, unsecured items, or damage that existed before our visit.
9. A safe place to work
You agree to provide a safe workplace with running water and electricity. Please keep pets secured during the visit or tell us about them in advance. You are responsible for giving us access (keys, codes, alarm instructions), which we keep confidential.
10. Our right to refuse unsafe work
Our cleaners may decline or stop any task they believe is unsafe β for example mold, pests or insects, structural hazards, high ladders, or anyone behaving in a threatening way. You will only be charged for work completed.
11. Messy jobs β what we do and donβt do
We clean ordinary household accidents such as pet or human vomit, feces and urine, and carpet and upholstery stains. We do not provide crime-scene, trauma, sewage, hoarding, needle/sharps, or hazardous-materials (hazmat) biohazard cleanup. Some stains and odors cannot be fully removed; we do our best but cannot guarantee results on every surface.
12. Our cleaners
Our cleaners are part of the Cleansta team. While you are a customer and for 12 months after your last visit, you agree not to hire a Cleansta cleaner directly or through another company for cleaning work. If you do, a placement fee equal to what we would have earned over 3 months of that service may apply.
13. Photos
We may take before-and-after photos of the areas we clean to record our work and resolve any concerns. We never photograph people or personal documents, and we only share photos publicly with your permission, with no identifying details.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Cleanstaβs total liability for any claim connected with a service is limited to the price you paid for that service. We are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, such as lost income or loss of use.
15. Indemnity
You agree to cover Cleansta and its team for claims, costs or damages caused by inaccurate information you gave us, unsafe conditions at your property, or your breach of these Terms.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan. Any dispute will be handled in the courts serving Ingham County, Michigan, unless the law requires otherwise. We always prefer to talk first and put things right.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed. The Terms in place on the day of your service apply to that service.
